AKUAPEM POLOO SENTENCED TO A THREE-MONTH JAIL TERM
Ghanaian actress, Rosemond Brown, better known as ‘Akuapem Polo’ has been sentenced to a three-month jail term by the Accra Circuit Court following her conviction on publication of obscene material & domestic violence charges.
This conviction comes after the actress posted a naked picture of herself, while holding her son’s hand celebrating his seventh birthday, on instagram.

The actress who was remanded into Police custody Wednesday, April 14, 2021, was subjected to a pregnancy test prior to her sentencing.
She faced charges of engaging in domestic violence – a conduct that in anyway undermines/ detracts or likely to detract another person’s dignity & worth and publication of obscene materials.
As reported on June 30, 2020, Miss Rosemond celebrated her son’s seventh birthday by taking a nude picture together with her son who was half-naked, posted on social media platform, instagram, which suddenly went viral.
Passing her judgement, Christina Cann bemoaned the spate of nudity on Ghanaian social media space. According to Mrs. Cann, the judge, the sentencing of Rosemond Brown must serve as a detterent to other popular people & the general public who engage in such acts.
The case was petitioned by Child’s Right Acrivist, Mr. Bright Appiah, after the photo went viral & the matter directed to the Domestic Violence & Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU).
